Description/Uses:
- Unique patent pending, two-part adapter from Blue Fireball that allows you to include up to two mounted 2" astronomical filters (with M48 threads) in your optical path on Schmidt-Cassegrain or variant telescopes.
- Innovative way to use your 2" filters with your SCT for imaging or visual applications when you cannot accommodate the 2" filters elsewhere.
- The 2" filters are held securely inside an internal chamber. Use one variable polarizing filter or up to two single filters (for example, a UV-IR Cut filter coupled with a broadband or narrowband filter for imaging applications). Total stacked length of the filter cells (excluding male threads) can be up to 17mm.
- Large inside diameter allows you to comfortably insert your fingers for insertion or removal of filters.
- With this adapter, you can use one or two 2" filters in the following example applications:
- With your OEM 1.25" visual back and 1.25" diagonal
- With your 0.63x SCT focal reducer
- With your SCT-T thread adapter for imaging applications
- With your 2" SCT diagonal or external SCT focuser if you cannot insert your 2" filters on the eyepiece end
How to Use:
- Unscrew the two parts (# F-04 and # F-24) completely
- Thread the shorter Chamber Cover adapter (# F-04) on to the 2"x24TPI male SCT thread on the rear of your telescope
- Thread one or two 2" astronomical filters into the M48 female thread inside the longer Filter Chamber adapter (# F-24)
- Screw the Filter Chamber adapter (containing your 2" filter(s)) back on to the Chamber Cover adapter completely
- Attach your SCT visual back, SCT diagonal, SCT-T imaging adapter, SCT focal reducer or other SCT threaded accessories on to the male SCT thread on the Filter Chamber adapter
