New, modified design: Blue Fireball has reduced the maximum width of this adapter marginally, with the result that this adapter can now be fully inserted into a 2" barrel with zero optical length.
This adapter has a female 2" filter thread (M48x0.75) on one side and a male T / T2 thread (M42x0.75) on the other side.
- Total length = 10mm (0.39")
- Male T thread length (including unthreaded undercut) = 3.5mm (0.14")
- Female M48 thread length = 5.2mm (0.20")
- Assuming that the male and female threads on this adapter are fully engaged, Optical length = Total length - Male thread length = 10 - 3.5 = 6.5mm. If the male thread on your accessory is longer than the female thread on this adapter, and/or conversely, if the female thread on your accessory is shorter than the male thread on this adapter, then your optical path length will be longer accordingly.
