1.25 inch IR685nm pass filter
The Player One IR685nm filter allows infrared light with wavelengths of more than 685nm to pass while blocking shorter wavelengths. Since the eye has little sensitivity at these long wavelengths, this filter is not suitable for visual observations, but it's a perfect match for lunar and planetary imaging. At these long wavelengths, images are less perturbed by wavefront distortions by the atmosphere (the effect of "seeing"). This results in the sharpest and highest contrast image possible.
By combining a luminance image taken with the IR-Pass filter, along with RGB and U-Venus filters, overall image sharpness is significantly enhanced when using a monochrome camera. The filter also makes it possible to image planets in daylight because the background sky appears much darker at wavelengths beyond 685nm.
