US Customers in Hawaii and Alaska:
Free shipping applies to almost all products. A few large telescopes and mounts are excluded from this free shipping offer. For these items, please contact us to obtain a shipping quote before you check out using the online shopping cart.
International Customers:
Free shipping does not apply to international orders. During check-out, you will be presented with several shipping choices and costs. However, the export of some items may be restricted outside the US due to size or manufacturer restrictions.
The side-by-side plates allow you to install two telescopes in parallel on the same mount and they are thus useful for both photographic and visual applications. Using these side-by-side plates it's also possible, for example, to install a camera (like a DSLR) in parallel to the main telescope to take a picture of the sky through their own lens.
This plate can be connected to all mounts with a Losmandy plate and the two terminals (they offer the connection for Vixen and Losmandy plates) are spaced 202mm.
Thanks to its particular design, the side by side Losmandy plate 240mm PLUS can be used:
- in photographic applications where it is necessary to install two telescopes on the same mount: for example, you can install a primary imaging telescope and one for guiding; or a camera (like a DSLR) that takes the pictures through its lens and a guide telescope.
- for visual applications where it is useful for the specific use, to install two telescopes in parallel.
For this application, PrimaLuceLab designed many elements, including the side by side Losmandy plate 240mm PLUS. Each component of the PLUS system is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation.
If you have other brands mechanical accessories, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed PrimaLuceLab has provided a series of central slots that allow, for example, to fix on these support rings plate or guide rings through a screw.
