Selecting a Solar Filter for your Optical Device

1. Measure the outer diameter (in millimeters) of your telescope's dew shield (front opening) very carefully like in the example image above.
2. Then select a filter with an inner diameter that is the same as your dew shield or tube’s outer diameter from the table below. Round up to the next millimeter for decimal measurements.

1. 1. Brand key: BP = Baader Planetarium, CE = Celestron, ME = Meade. SP = Spectrum Telescopes
   2. All Baader and Celestron filters are made with solar film.
   3. All Meade filters are glass filters.
   4. Spectrum makes film and glass filters. Part numbers ending in G are glass filters. Part numbers ending in BP1 are film filters. Part numbers ending in BPP are film filters sold in pairs for binoculars.
