The ZWO EFW-7x2 filter wheel offers precise electronic control of filter positioning during astronomical imaging. It’s ideal for use with large-sensor astronomy camera that require 2” filters. It accepts up to seven 2” threaded filters or 50.4mm +/- 0.5mm unmounted filters with a cell height that does not exceed 7mm and in which the male thread length does not exceed 3mm.
With a thickness of 20mm (0.79"), this filter wheel is made of black-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and uses a whisper-quiet Japanese-made stepper motor to help ensure years of reliable field use. When used with a monochrome astronomy camera, this electronic filter wheel and a set of color or narrowband filters (not included) allow you to capture spectacular color images of astronomical objects. The ZWO 7-position EFW-7x2 filter wheel weighs just 650g (22.9oz) so it won't bog down your telescope mount. When connected to ZWO ASI6200 full-frame camera, the distance from the filter to the sensor is about 18mm.
The bi-directional electronic filter wheel is powered and controlled through the USB port on your camera or directly via a USB cable connected to your computer, so you don't need any extra power supplies to power the wheel. A USB2.0 cable is included. With ASCOM and SDK control modes, the wheel can be controlled with a wide range of standard astronomy and imaging software. The maximum power supply of this EFW is approximately 120mAh @ 5V which can be delivered from a cooled ZWO camera’s USB2.0 port (camera sold separately).
