The new 2nd generation 7-position 36mm EFW (Electronic Filter Wheel) from ZWO features a larger body and newly added screw holes on the covers, allowing for a much easier and more flexible way to connect it to ZWO ASI cameras and the M68 OAG. This allows filters to be placed closer to the camera sensor to reduce the chances of vignetting.
With a thickness of 20mm (0.79"), this filter wheel is made of black-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and uses a whisper-quiet Japanese-made stepper motor to help ensure years of reliable field use. When used with a monochrome astronomy camera, this electronic filter wheel and a set of color or narrowband filters (not included) allow you to capture spectacular color images of astronomical objects. The filter wheel's carousel holds up to 7 unmounted filters with a diameter of 36mm (filters not included). All ZWO 36mm filters are perfectly supported by this EFW. But if you use filters from third parties, please make sure that the thickness of the filter is not less than 1.8mm.
The bi-directional electronic filter wheel is powered and controlled through the USB port on your cooled/Pro camera or directly via a single USB cable connected to your computer, so you don't need any extra power supplies to power the wheel. A USB2.0 cable is included. When the ASCOM driver is installed, the wheel can be controlled with a wide range of standard astronomy and imaging software. The power consumption of this EFW is approximately 120mAh @5V.
The filter wheel includes a 1.25" nosepiece with T/T2 threads, a 1.25" eyepiece/camera holder with T/T2 threads, a T2-T2 adapter, a USB cable, a small screwdriver and screw package, darken rings and filter masks. It also includes a 7-position filter carousel that 36mm unmounted filters which are held in place with M2 retaining screws (included).
