The large well depth allows brighter stars to be captured without overexposure while keeping excellent color gradation. In HCG (high gain) mode, readout noise drops to just 1.1e without affecting dynamic range, making your images sharper and more detailed.
Zero Amp Glow for Clean Long Exposures
Traditional CMOS sensors can produce a faint infrared light during long exposures, often seen as amp glow in the corners of images. The ASI2400MC Pro eliminates this issue with zero amp-glow circuitry. This ensures your images stay clean and free of unwanted light, even at high gain settings.
Anti-Dew Design
The ASI2400MC Pro has with a polyimide dew heater around the camera window. This helps combat condensation in humid environments. This 5W heater can be turned off through the camera’s software to conserve power when not in use.
Two-Stage TEC Cooling for Low Sensor Noise
The camera uses two-stage thermoelectric cooling (TEC). This can reduce the sensor temperature by up to 35°C below the ambient temperature. It helps reduce dark current and sensor noise, even during long exposures.
The camera’s dark current suppression technology further reduces noise. When cooled to -20°C, dark current is as low as 0.00035e/s/pixel, making it negligible. The TEC cooler requires a 12V external power supply (not included), and cannot be powered by the ZWO ASIAir-Plus or Pro.
