US Customers in Hawaii and Alaska:

ZWO does not recommend users to remove or replace the original battery in the Seestar unless necessary. The built-in battery is designed to be durable and reliable under normal usage, and most users should not encounter battery issues during standard operation. Therefore, keeping backup batteries in stock preemptively is not particularly necessary.
The 1-year warranty period for this spare battery starts from the date you receive the item, regardless of whether the battery is opened or used. So even if the battery remains sealed and unused, the warranty begins once you receive it.
While the battery can remain usable within a 12-month shelf period based on ZWO's testing, the official specification from their battery supplier recommends a functional check every 6 months. It means that ZWO does not recommend storing batteries for longer than 6 months before sale and usage by the end customer, as prolonged storage may affect performance or reliability.
