Important Note:
For people with normal vision, this finder reaches infinity focus almost at the very end of the metal tube. The focus point is just about 1.25 turns inside the last thread. What this means is that you should be very careful when you first focus the finder as going past the focus point (last thread) could result in the dewshield (with the objective inside it) popping off in your hand or falling off. Once infinity focus has been reached and the lock ring secured firmly behind the objective/dewshield, everything will be fine. If you are nearsighted and observe without your glasses, you should have no problem reaching infinity focuser safely.
1. 30mm Finderscope
This is a very high quality yet economical 30mm GSO finder suitable for spotting scopes and small telescopes. It features a multi-coated achromatic objective and single eyepiece cross-hairs that allow for precise centering of faint objects. This finder provides an inverted, reversed image and is available in a white tube finish with black dewshield/diagonal/eyepiece only as shown in the accompanying photo. The finder comes with two plastic end caps.
The eyepiece body is made of high-quality molded ABS plastic. The rest of the finder is beautifully CNC-machined from aluminum and powder coated to a glossy finish. The inside of the tube is painted a flat black and the inside of the dewshield features v-grooves to minimize spurious reflections and maximize contrast.
To focus the finder:
(i) Turn the focus lock ring (on the tube right behind the dewshield) towards the eyepiece as far back as it will go.
(ii) Turn the objective dewshield in either direction until you reach focus while looking into the eyepiece.
(iii) Turn the focus lock ring towards the dewshield until it locks into place and can turn no farther. Focus will be locked in this position.
Please note: The eyepiece crosshairs are not focusable.

2. Finder Bracket
The included GSO all-metal finder bracket has a standard Vixen/Synta-syle foot and will work with many 30mm finder telescopes sold on the market today (GSO, Orion, Meade finders, etc.). The finder features two metal thumbscrews with Delrin (plastic) tips and a spring loaded screw for quick and precise finder alignment.
Durable gunmetal gray finish. Bracket weighs 3.7oz (without dovetail base). Includes 1 rubber o-ring. Total height = 115mm. The minimum inside diameter of the bracket is 32.5mm.
Please note that no finder shoe/base is included with this item. However, we offer several different styles for sale at discounted prices if purchased at the same time as this finder bracket - see the drop down list above for these. We are unable to tell you which base to buy for your telescope. Please see the individual product pages for the bases shown above to see specifications and determine which one will work for you.
The bottom of this bracket has a small rectangular extension. Some finder bases (such as the Agena XFURB and TFURB) do not have a slot to accommodate this extension. If used with these bases, note that the finder bracket will stick out of the back by 3.7mm.
Finally, please note that GSO has a habit of changing the two locking thumbscrews with each shipment. They may be metal or plastic and/or they may differ in appearance from those pictured in our photos above. We have no control over this.
